CarBahn Performance Controller (CPC):

The CPC is a plug and play ECU that increases boost pressure in turbocharged cars to dramatically increase HP and Torque. The unit has selectable maps through a Bluetooth app on your smart phone. You can download these apps for your smartphone through the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

These maps are designed to accommodate different octane fuels for additional increased performance. You can choose between 91, 93 and 100 Octane. As with all CarBahn products an optional powertrain warranty can be purchased.

If you want to trade your CarBahn Performance Controller in for software in the future, there is a $250 upgrade fee and if you purchased the warranty, it is transferable to the software at no additional charge!

Emissions legality:

A note on down pipes (removing the catalyst). We have run back-to-back dyno runs with the cat on and off and the power gain is much smaller than most people claim usually around 11hp. We all need to breathe the air. It is difficult to get your car its required emissions test without catalyst and it is illegal.

CarBahn S58 M2, M3 & M4 High Flow Replacement Intake Air Filters.

CarBahn high flow replacement air filters for your OEM airbox.  With less restriction and similar cleaning characteristics, these filters will increase the breathability of your high-performance engine. CarBahn measured a power gain of 10 HP.

CarBahn has developed a Toe Link Kit for the F8x M2, M3 & M4 and the G8X M3 & M4 designed to add precision and predictability at the limit.

The Stock Rear Toe Link and Stock Rear Lower Trailing Arm are built with rubber bushings causing excessive deflection. During hard acceleration, these arms flex and allow the rear wheels to have excessive geometry changes. All this flex in the stock suspension links cause the car to be unstable when cornering and pushing on the limits of acceleration. CarBahn eliminates this flex by replacing the rubber bushings with Teflon coated machined steel rod ends.

Most, if not all, of our competitors’ products wrap the rod end in a loose rubber boot, which not only allows to enter but also retain the water and debris which results in excessive noise and a short service life until the rod ends have to be replaced. When tracking a car with a high performance suspension and R compound tires will often overload the OEM eccentric adjuster causing it to slip. This is especially true when you hit racing curbs at high speed on a track day.  

When you install our rear toe link adjusters you no longer need the factory eccentric adjuster. This provides the opportunity to lock those adjusters so the alignment will stay put when driving on the track. We highly recommend this option when purchasing our toe link kit if you are going to partake in track days.

When designing this new cooler, CSF wanted to ensure the best possible performance with factory like fitment. This oil cooler is a truly unique design using CSF’s AC Condenser Technology. Design, Development, and Testing

While the OEM Transmission Cooler is adequate for the G8X in stock form, it starts to come up a bit short on modified/tuned vehicles. Specifically ones that see heavy track/competition use. Transmission oil temperatures have a major impact on the shifting performance of your automatic transmission. If the fluid passes optimal temperatures you will start to see some delays in shifting. Sluggish shifting can be quite frustrating, but the real concern is the damage that can be done to the transmission when temperatures get too high. There are often cases where drivers don’t notice the change in shifting performance due to the gradual onset, but the damage is still being done slowly on a very expensive and important component.

By changing from the OEM single core design to a dual core, CSF was able to increase the overall volume by 194%. This design offers a drastic improvement in heat dissipation and increases the fluid capacity of the coolers by ~94%. Utilizing CSF’s AC Condenser Technology, a 1-Row Super-High Pressure 16mm 9-Channel Microtube design optimizes oil flow and offers maximum surface area contact. These features combine to offer the best possible heat dissipation from the system.

Rock Guard

CSF knows the kind of punishment the front of a car can take on or off the track. The wrong bit of debris flying through the front grille can quickly punch a hole in a cooler. Because the Transmission cooler sits at the very front of the center cooling stack, it is quite vulnerable to damage. In addition, “open face” race style grilles have become quite popular on the G8X. These grilles can add to the risk of debris passing through.

The CarBahn engine is both stronger and less expensive than the BMW OEM factory engine. The S58 CarBahn engine is designed to improve the strength of your engine if you are tuning your car. Connecting rods are replaced with Carrillo forged racing rods. Pistons are CP forged racing pistons. The engine also comes with high performance valve springs for increased boost. The stock engine compression ratio is relatively high due to the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards which push for consistently higher fuel economy in cars and trucks. However, this increased compression limits engine performance with higher boost settings by decreasing the size of the fuel-air charge in the combustion chamber, forcing the ignition timing to retard far below MBT (mean best timing, the theoretical optimal ignition timing). Therefore, the Carbahn S58 engine has 0.5 less compression to optimize the engine for the increased boost.

The Forgeline GA1R is a fully-forged one-piece monoblock wheel that utilizes much of the technology and design of our very successful GA3R racing wheel, including our “I-beamed” spoke technology. The Forgeline RB1 one piece monoblock wheel features a concave 10-spoke design with a subtle directional twist on each spoke, so each set includes unique left and right versions. The RB1 also utilizes Forgeline’s I-beam technology along each spoke and along the front lip between spokes to reduce mass and enhance strength & rigidity. The one-piece monoblock forging and computer-simulated FEA design process yield a wheel that is lightweight, extremely stiff, and has excellent fatigue strength.
