CarBahn has produced the largest most thermally efficient heat exchanger on the market. Increasing cooling capacity by 40%. This heat exchanger utilizes F1 heat exchanger technology. This heat exchanger technology is dramatically more efficient than the lower cost heat exchangers on the market. The race car heat exchanger is significantly lighter weight.

Dual intercoolers 

CarBahn CSF larger dual intercoolers is a very efficient heat exchanging that will allow you to run more boost and extract more power. They are designed to compensate for additional heat generated by increased boost. The CarBahn Monoball Kit replaces the rubber bushings in the stock thrust arms with sealed precision ball joints inside machined aluminum housings. As a result of eliminating the deflection that is inherent in rubber bushings, braking stability is improved, and the tendency for the car to follow ruts in the road (especially with wider wheels and tires) is reduced.

The bearings inside the Monoball Assembly are nylon-lined for quiet operation, and are sealed against water and debris intrusion for longevity.

 

The stock rear toe link is built with rubber bushings and a curved forged alloy rod which can easily flex. During hard acceleration, this flex allows the rear wheels to have excessive toe changes. All this flex in the stock toe link causes the car to be unstable when pushing the limits of acceleration.  CarBahn eliminates this flex by replacing the rubber bushings with Teflon coated machined steel rod ends, and the OEM curved bar with a straight billet aluminum rod. Most, if not all, of our competitors’ products wrap the rod end in a loose rubber boot, which not only allows water and debris to enter but also retains them which results in excessive noise and a short service life until the rod ends must be replaced. However, this increased compression limits engine performance with higher boost settings by decreasing the size of the fuel-air charge in the combustion chamber, forcing the ignition timing to retard far below MBT (Mean Best Timing, the theoretical optimal ignition timing). Therefore, the Carbahn Autoworks S63 engine has 0.5 less compression to optimize the engine for the increased boost. In an emissions-legal street car, the lowered compression has the added benefit of reducing catalyst inlet temperatures and improved drive-ability on pump gas.

The RB1 also utilizes Forgeline’s I-beam technology along each spoke and along the front lip between spokes to reduce mass and enhance strength & rigidity. The S63 engine is not designed to have large increase in boost. CarBahn has designed a high-performance engine to handle very high outputs by utilizing higher quality racing components. This engine includes higher quality racing Forged Carrillo connecting rods, CP forged pistons and CarBahn high-performance valve springs, ported heads and reground crankshaft with stronger bearings. This Engine includes a complete rebuild with a valve job, timing chains, chain guides, tensioners, water pump thermostat, new bearings, seals and gaskets.

The stock high compression ratio is high for CAFÉ. (Corporate average fuel economy). However, this increased compression limits engine performance with higher boost setting by decreasing the size of the fuel air charge in the combustion chamber and by forcing the ignition timing to retard far below MBT (mean best timing). The CarBahn engine has .5 less compression to optimize the engine for the increased boost. If this an emissions legal street car the lowered compression has the added benefit of reducing catalyst inlet temperatures and improved drivability on pump gas.
