The CPC is a plug and play ECU that increases boost pressure in turbocharged cars to dramatically increase HP and Torque. The unit has selectable maps through a Bluetooth app on your smart phone. You can download these apps for your smartphone through the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

A note on down pipes (removing the catalyst). We have run back-to-back dyno runs with the cat on and off and the power gain is much smaller than most people claim usually around 11hp. We all need to breathe the air. It is difficult to get your car its required emissions test without catalyst and it is illegal.

Philosophy:
CarBahn software is designed to deliver the highest safe output possible. Smooth Power means software tuned correctly, not over-tuned. We always try to make a natural torque curve, not excessive torque at low RPM that falls off rapidly at high RPM. Excessive torque will break the tires loose, break the engine and drivetrain. Managed torque with a smooth delivery makes the car easier to drive thereby faster and more reliable. Most if not all our competitor tunes attempt to run too much boost, resulting in active knock corrections which causes surging during acceleration. CarBahn software also incorporates torque reduction in 1st and 2nd gears for manageable power delivery.
Durability:
Most if not all tunes on the market except CarBahn reduce safety parameters in the software in an attempt to extract more power. These safety parameters such as knock control sensitivity, super knocking control sensitivity, and catalyst thermal protection are tuned into your OEM software to prevent engine and catalyst failure. When we reduced all the supposed power robbing software protections we lost less than 8 HP and 8 LB/FT Torque. We have seen many damaged engines as result of reducing these safety parameters! It hardly seems worth it for 8HP.
Doing it yourself:
A note on self-tuning tools. There are now programs available that you can buy to tune your car yourself. Many of these tools come with canned programs. Be careful as tuning a high output engine requires tremendous knowledge and experience to extract maximum power without damage.

High boost with stock engine:
We have seen many damaged engines as result of making too much power with a stock engine. While modern engines are very reliable, it is easy to add large turbochargers and water methanol injection and break the engine. On the F8X, maximum safe power on a stock engine is 600 LB/FT flywheel torque. CarBahn makes high performance engines designed to handle more power. More information is available on this web site.

CSF has answered the call with the release of new High-Performance Auxiliary (Side) Radiators as well as a world exclusive Dual-Core ZF 8HP Transmission Oil Cooler.
Don’t be fooled by other high-performance aftermarket options that utilize the OEM plastic rock guard. The OEM rock guard’s vertical channel design is specifically designed to only work with the tube spacing found on the OEM core. When the OEM rock guard is installed on an aftermarket radiator, it actually blocks a significant amount of surface area, detrimental to the intended performance. During CSF’s own R&D phase, CSF analyzed both the OEM and other aftermarket offerings and decided to take the extra step, redesigning the included rock guard to allow maximum flow to the radiator core, but still offering ample protection from small rocks and road debris – all proven on CSF’s in-house wind tunnel.

The B58 engine is found in a wide array of vehicles; Z4 20i, 30i & M40i G20 3-Series 320i, 330i, 330iX, M340i, M340iX G21 3-Series Touring (330i, 330iX, M340iX) The motor is similar to the S55 engine found in the latest generation F8x M3/M4 (and M2 Competition) in that it has an indirect water-to-air charge cooling system with a supplemental front mount heat exchanger to cool the water that circulates through the charge cooler. The CarBahn engine is both stronger and less expensive than the BMW OEM factory engine. The B58 CarBahn engine is designed to improve the strength of your engine if you are tuning your car. Connecting rods are replaced with Carrillo forged racing rods. Pistons are CP forged racing pistons. The engine also comes with high performance valve springs for increased boost pressure.
The CarBahn engine is both stronger and less expensive than the BMW OEM factory engine. The B58 CarBahn engine is designed to improve the strength of your engine if you are tuning your car. Steve Dinan’s engine shop has been building racing engines for 43 years. CBB58-6205 – B58 Stage 2 High Performance Engine for B30B 2WD
This B58 engine is designed to make for maximum power applications (over 1,000HP) CarBahn has designed a high-performance engine to handle very high outputs by pinning the cam sprocket to the crankshaft. To ensure durability we also machine the block to accommodate a full circle thrust main. In addition, we utilize higher quality racing Carrillo connecting rods, forged CP pistons, cylinder head studs, high performance valve springs, cylinder head porting and lowered compression for increased flow and high boost.
The stock engine compression ratio is relatively high due to the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards which push for consistently higher fuel economy in cars and trucks. However, this increased compression limits engine performance with higher boost settings by decreasing the size of the fuel-air charge in the combustion chamber, forcing the ignition timing to retard far below MBT (mean best timing, the theoretical optimal ignition timing). Therefore, the Carbahn B58 engine has 0.5 less compression to optimize the engine for the increased boost.
The CarBahn engine is both stronger and less expensive than the BMW OEM factory engine. The B58 CarBahn engine is designed to improve the strength of your engine if you are tuning your car. Connecting rods are replaced with Carrillo forged racing rods. Pistons are CP forged racing pistons. The engine also comes with lowered compression, ported cylinder head and high-performance valve springs for ultra-high boost pressures. The engine is a complete overhaul with blue printing and balancing. This engine is designed for an increase in torque of 100% over stock.

Those engines have won many championships including three prototype racing championships including 2 overall wins in the 24hrs of Daytona in 2011-2013. You will not find a higher quality engine. All engines are backed with a two-year warranty.

We include high performance valve springs with our engine, however you can purchase the springs separately. Our springs increase valve spring pressure by 20%. We also keep the steel retainers for long term durability.
Steve Dinan has been building racing and high performance road car engines for over 40 years. We are concerned about the trend in high performance valve springs on the new S55, S58 and B58 engines. Companies are selling springs with very high spring rates that will rob power and dramatically increase valve train wear.
Theory
The goal of a valve spring pressure is to make it as low as possible. This is because compressing a spring takes energy and robs potential power. In addition, more valve spring pressure increases valve train wear. We work very hard at running just enough valve spring pressure to keep the follower in contact with the camshaft but no more. If you increase the RPM you increase the valve spring just enough to manage the inertia from the increased RPM. The valve spring also needs enough seat pressure and the correct frequency not to bounce when the valve is closed. This is to avoid leaking trapped mass (the fuel air charge).
Boosted engine
With a boosted engine you will need a slight increase in pressure to push back against the boost pressure in the intake trying to hold the valve open. This amount of pressure added is much less than the pressure to control the inertia of the valve train.
Conclusion
If you double the boost pressure you do not need to double the spring pressure since only about 20% of the spring pressure is to control the boost pressure and 80% is to control the valve train mass. An additional 20% of valve spring pressure is all you need to run.

The Forgeline GA1R is a fully-forged one-piece monoblock wheel that utilizes much of the technology and design of our very successful GA3R racing wheel, including our “I-beamed” spoke technology. The concave design of the GA1R not only looks great, but allows plenty of room for caliper clearance and extreme brake fitment, while the one-piece monoblock forging and I-beamed spoke design yield a wheel that is extremely stiff with fatigue strength equal to our proven GA3R. And yet despite the strength and stiffness, for most applications and sizes, it also delivers a high-performance weight reduction – making it perfect for motorsports and racing applications or the discerning street enthusiast who demands the ultimate in performance capability!
The GA1R is designed for racing. It is engineered with a 2100 lb. street-tire load rating (per wheel) to ensure strength and integrity, even when subjected to the massive loads encountered on the stickiest race tires.
The GA1R is produced using our traditional forging method from 6061-T6 aluminum. It is currently available in 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22-inch sizes with a range of widths and offsets.
