The smooth power flash tuner can upload your stock file for safe keeping, read and clear faults. It can receive software updates from your PC emailed to you by CarBahn. These files can be free updates or increased performance tunes that to match hardware upgrades you purchase from CarBahn. The software comes with a two-year product warranty.

CarBahn software is designed to deliver the highest safe output possible. Smooth Power means software tuned correctly, not over-tuned. We always try to make a natural torque curve, not excessive torque at low RPM that falls off rapidly at high RPM. Excessive torque will break the tires loose, break the engine and drivetrain. Managed torque with a smooth delivery makes the car easier to drive thereby faster and more reliable. Most if not all our competitor tunes attempt to run too much boost, resulting in active knock corrections which causes surging during acceleration. CarBahn software also incorporates torque reduction in 1st and 2nd gears for manageable power delivery.
Durability:
Most if not all tunes on the market except CarBahn reduce safety parameters in the software in an attempt to extract more power. These safety parameters such as knock control sensitivity, super knocking control sensitivity, and catalyst thermal protection are tuned into your OEM software to prevent engine and catalyst failure. When we reduced all the supposed power robbing software protections we lost less than 8 HP and 8 LB/FT Torque. We have seen many damaged engines as result of reducing these safety parameters! It hardly seems worth it for 8HP.
Doing it yourself:
A note on self-tuning tools. There are now programs available that you can buy to tune your car yourself. Many of these tools come with canned programs. Be careful as tuning a high output engine requires tremendous knowledge and experience to extract maximum power without damage.

As an added benefit, the bearings are mounted eccentrically to give approximately 2.1 degrees of adjustable caster range. The Stock Rear Toe Link and Stock Rear Lower Trailing Arm are built with rubber bushings causing excessive deflection. During hard acceleration, these arms flex and allow the rear wheels to have excessive geometry changes. All this flex in the stock suspension links cause the car to be unstable when cornering and pushing on the limits of acceleration. CarBahn eliminates this flex by replacing the rubber bushings with Teflon coated machined steel rod ends.
Most, if not all, of our competitors’ products wrap the rod end in a loose rubber boot, which not only allows to enter but also retain the water and debris which results in excessive noise and a short service life until the rod ends have to be replaced. When tracking a car with a high performance suspension and R compound tires will often overload the OEM eccentric adjuster causing it to slip. This is especially true when you hit racing curbs at high speed on a track day.
When you install our rear toe link adjusters you no longer need the factory eccentric adjuster. This provides the opportunity to lock those adjusters so the alignment will stay put when driving on the track. We highly recommend this option when purchasing our toe link kit if you are going to partake in track days.

Design, Development, and Testing
While the OEM Transmission Cooler is adequate for the G8X in stock form, it starts to come up a bit short on modified/tuned vehicles. Specifically ones that see heavy track/competition use. Transmission oil temperatures have a major impact on the shifting performance of your automatic transmission. If the fluid passes optimal temperatures you will start to see some delays in shifting. Sluggish shifting can be quite frustrating, but the real concern is the damage that can be done to the transmission when temperatures get too high. There are often cases where drivers don’t notice the change in shifting performance due to the gradual onset, but the damage is still being done slowly on a very expensive and important component.
By changing from the OEM single core design to a dual core, CSF was able to increase the overall volume by 194%. This design offers a drastic improvement in heat dissipation and increases the fluid capacity of the coolers by ~94%. Utilizing CSF’s AC Condenser Technology, a 1-Row Super-High Pressure 16mm 9-Channel Microtube design optimizes oil flow and offers maximum surface area contact. These features combine to offer the best possible heat dissipation from the system.
Rock Guard
CSF knows the kind of punishment the front of a car can take on or off the track. The wrong bit of debris flying through the front grille can quickly punch a hole in a cooler. Because the Transmission cooler sits at the very front of the center cooling stack, it is quite vulnerable to damage. In addition, “open face” race style grilles have become quite popular on the G8X. These grilles can add to the risk of debris passing through.

Due to the design of the crankshaft, it is known to have the timing chain sprocket spin on the end of the crankshaft, causing the cams to go out of time. In extreme cases, the valves can hit the pistons, causing catastrophic damage. Furthermore, the N55 only has half of a normal crankshaft thrust bearing. To ensure durability we pin the timing chain sprocket to the crankshaft, machine the block to accommodate a full circle thrust main. All engines are backed with a two-year warranty.

To ensure durability we also machine the block to accommodate a full circle thrust main. In addition, we utilize higher quality racing Carrillo connecting rods, forged CP pistons, cylinder head studs, high performance valve springs, cylinder head porting and lowered compression for increased flow and high boost.
The stock engine compression ratio is relatively high due to the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards which push for consistently higher fuel economy in cars and trucks. However, this increased compression limits engine performance with higher boost settings by decreasing the size of the fuel-air charge in the combustion chamber, forcing the ignition timing to retard far below MBT (mean best timing, the theoretical optimal ignition timing). Therefore, the Carbahn N55 engine has 0.5 less compression to optimize the engine for the increased boost.

The Forgeline GA1R is a fully-forged one-piece monoblock wheel that utilizes much of the technology and design of our very successful GA3R racing wheel, including our “I-beamed” spoke technology. The concave design of the GA1R not only looks great, but allows plenty of room for caliper clearance and extreme brake fitment, while the one-piece monoblock forging and I-beamed spoke design yield a wheel that is extremely stiff with fatigue strength equal to our proven GA3R. And yet despite the strength and stiffness, for most applications and sizes, it also delivers a high-performance weight reduction – making it perfect for motorsports and racing applications or the discerning street enthusiast who demands the ultimate in performance capability!
The GA1R is designed for racing. It is engineered with a 2100 lb. street-tire load rating (per wheel) to ensure strength and integrity, even when subjected to the massive loads encountered on the stickiest race tires.
The GA1R is produced using our traditional forging method from 6061-T6 aluminum. It is currently available in 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22-inch sizes with a range of widths and offsets. The RB1 also utilizes Forgeline’s I-beam technology along each spoke and along the front lip between spokes to reduce mass and enhance strength & rigidity.
