CarBahn’s EVO intelligent software has the ability to adapt to a large range of fuels octanes. Our software retunes and keeps all safety features that are moved out of the way by most tuners. To get a better understanding of these safety limits watch this video. Retuning the safety limits gives our software the ability to adapt smoothly from 91 octane to 100 octane and because it can adapt and still make maximum power with each octane you do not need to purchase a custom tune if you are running race gas! It is designed to deliver the highest safe output possible. Intelligent software means software tuned correctly, not over-tuned.  We always try to make a natural torque curve, not excessive torque at low RPM that falls off rapidly at high RPM.To get a better understanding of our torque limiting watch this video.  Excessive torque will break the tires loose, break the engine and drivetrain. Managed torque with a smooth delivery makes the car easier to drive thereby faster and more reliable. Most if not all our competitor tunes attempt to run too much boost, and then compromise reliability by reducing knock sensitivity and thermal protections in an attempt to extract extra power which can cause engine damage.

Durability:

Most if not all tunes on the market except CarBahn reduce safety parameters in the software to extract more power. These safety parameters such as knock control sensitivity, super knocking control sensitivity, and catalyst thermal protection are tuned into your OEM software to prevent engine and catalyst failure. When we reduced all the supposed power robbing software protections, we lost less than 12 HP. We have seen many damaged engines as result of reducing these safety parameters! It hardly seems worth it for 12HP.

Doing it yourself:

A note on self-tuning tools. There are now programs available that you can buy to tune your car yourself. Many of these tools come with canned programs. Most if not all of these canned programs have safety limits moved out of the way making it very easy to damage your engine. Tuning a high output engine requires tremendous knowledge and experience to extract maximum power without damage.

Emissions legality: 

A note on down pipes (removing the catalyst). We have run back-to-back dyno runs with the cat on and off and the power gain is much smaller than most people claim usually around 11hp. We all need to breathe the air. It is difficult to get your car its required emissions test without catalyst and it is illegal.

*Registration with CarBahn at time of purchase is required to maintain matching warranty coverage. CarBahn reserves the right to deny warranty program enrollment under certain conditions. Please contact us prior to purchase if you have any questions.

*Warranty valid on U.S. and Canadian specification vehicles only. If your vehicle is currently covered by the vehicle manufacturer new car limited warranty, CarBahn products are warranted for the remaining term of the vehicle manufacturer new car limited warranty. The manufacturer new car warranty is limited to 4 years or 50,000 miles (80,000 kilometers in Canada), commencing on the date of first retail sale or the date the vehicle is first placed in-service as a demonstrator or company vehicle, whichever is earlier. CarBahn warranties are transferable when ownership of the vehicle into which the CarBahn products were originally installed is sold. The warranty will, without charge for parts or labor, repair or replace the defective CarBahn component(s), as well as any original vehicle manufacturer component(s) that may have been directly affected by a CarBahn component, using new or authorized remanufactured parts. The decision to repair or replace said parts is at the sole discretion of CarBahn. Parts for which replacements are supplied under this limited warranty become the property of CarBahn. In all cases, a reasonable period must be allowed for warranty repairs to be completed.

If your vehicle is outside of the vehicle manufacturer’s new car limited warranty, for two (2) years from the original purchase date of the CarBahn product, CarBahn will repair or replace, at its sole discretion, any defective CarBahn component. This warranty does not include reimbursement for repairs to any original vehicle manufacturer component(s) that may have been affected by a CarBahn component.

*Warranty exclusions:

Return shipping charges, towing charges, rental car fees damage to a component or assembly due to the installation of replacement parts with specifications that differ in any material respect from the original vehicle manufacturer or CarBahn parts, damage resulting from the unauthorized modification of a CarBahn part or assembly, damage resulting from the use of other manufacturer products in conjunction with CarBahn products or systems, damage to the clutch due to power shifting or abuse, brake rotor warp, friction materials, maintenance services and parts when replaced during maintenance such as spark plugs, lubricants, fluids, engine tune-up parts, replacement of filters, coolant and refrigerant, mechanical adjustments or repairs which result from normal wear and tear, drive-belts, light bulbs, damage due to the failure to perform maintenance services at the specified intervals or in accordance with the instructions in the owner manual from the original vehicle manufacturer or CarBahn product instructions, damage attributable to negligence or abuse, improper installation, improper treatment or treatment contrary to the instructions in the owner manual from the original vehicle manufacturer or CarBahn product instructions, engine damage resulting from alteration of CarBahn  original boost pressure, damage resulting from the use of improper or contaminated fuel, damage occurring through corrosion resulting from weak or improper coolant, damage to a CarBahn component as a result of a collision or improper collision damage repairs, any vehicle operated in any competitive event or subjected to aggressive track conditions, custom-designed competition parts, damages resulting from loss of time, inconvenience or loss of the use of the vehicle, damage resulting from environmental influences, flood, accident, fire damage, or road salt corrosion, re-manufactured or refurbished products or components (these products are clearly identified as re-furbished and are warranted for the period specified for that particular product).
